Kees Meeuws, an All Black prop from 1998 to 2004, is the son of a Dutch father who emigrated to New Zealand after the Second World War. His mother is Māori, of the Ngāti Maru tribe. A former student of Elam School of Fine Arts in Auckland, his interests outside rugby range from sculpture and sketching to pig hunting and deer farming.
