Murihiku beds (1 o 3)

Murihiku beds

This aerial view shows the distinctive, steeply tilted Murihiku beds in the Hokonui Hills, Southland. Some of the harder beds or groups of beds, mainly sandstone or conglomerate, stand out clearly. Much of what you cannot see is mudstone, which is softer and tends to be covered in grass.
