A civil defence team practises looking for survivors after a simulated building collapse. This event was a worst-case scenario, as modern, earthquake-resistant design aims to avoid buildings falling completely. Such skills were, tragically, needed following the collapse of the CCTV and Pyne Gould Guinness buildings in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake.
