Replica of the Bounty

From the 1960s Whangarei Engineering and Construction were the largest shipbuilders in New Zealand. Among their projects was a replica of Captain William Bligh’s famous ship, the Bounty, used in the film Mutiny on the Bounty. Although the replica hull was of steel, detailed research ensured that the woodwork was historically accurate. Here the new Bounty is being launched.
