Built in 1963–64, Peter Beaven’s Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority Administration Building was recognised as a significant contribution to New Zealand architecture soon after it was built.

See here for a tour of the building, filmed when it was 20 years old, for the television series The elegant shed, narrated by architect David Mitchell.
