The Oosterdam at Port Chalmers

The Oosterdam at Port Chalmers

The 82,305-ton Oosterdam towers over Port Chalmers in 2013. This Holland America Line ship could carry more than 1,800 passengers and 800 crew and her day in port kept the shuttles, tour buses and the Taieri Gorge train busy. In 2015, Port Chalmers was gearing up to handle 167,000-ton, 5,000-passenger vessels.
