In order to attract nurses to work in Otago rest homes and hospitals, in the early 2000s Presbyterian Support Otago offered scholarships to international nurses to help them gain New Zealand registration. Isabel Montalba from the Philippines was a scholarship recipient in 2008, and by 2009 was working at Ross Home and Hospital in Dunedin. She is seen here chatting with resident Lawrence Wright.
