A Canadian war bride

Kathy Bennetts (née Archibald) was one of a number of Canadian women who immigrated with their New Zealand husbands after the Second World War. Kathy met her future husband, Paul, when he was sent to Canada to train under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. Fluent in French and German, she was working for the war effort as a translator in the Canadian censorship department. She and Paul are seen here with attendants after their wedding at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa on 16 June 1945.
