Īnia Te Wīata

Īnia Te Wīata

Bass Īnia Te Wīata is shown in the role of Dansker, the old sailor, in a 1964 production of Benjamin Britten's opera Billy Budd at the Royal Opera House, London. After the 1954 premiere of the work, in which Te Wīata first played the role of Dansker, Britten described his interpretation as 'marvellously moving'.
