The Orange Lodge has always made 12 July a special day of marching, to recall William of Orange’s defeat of King James II at the Battle of Boyne on that day in 1690. These members of the order are marching in Christchurch. Since 1978 the Loyal Orange Institution has been a registered charitable organisation helping many community and charity groups.
