The Awatere Fault (1 o 2)

The Awatere Fault

The Awatere Fault (in the Marlborough region of the South Island) is a striking feature cutting across the Awatere valley. Progressive offsetting of minor features indicates that it had moved several times in the previous few hundred years. The last movement on the fault was in 1848.
