Bullfrog Rata (left, with guitar) and Laura Collins perform at the Hotel Bristol in Wellington. Tura 'Bullfrog' Rata began his blues career as a busker in the 1980s, going on to become one of New Zealand's best known blues performers. Laura Collins, usually accompanied by the Back Porch Blues Band, performs blues and alt country music. In the 2000s and 2010s the Bristol was a venue for regular blues nights organised by Capital Blues Inc, the Wellington blues club.
