Salting food

New Zealand’s favourite takeaway wouldn’t be quite the same without salt. It is taken for granted that once the battered fish and chips have been removed from the deep fryer, drained and dumped onto a sheet of paper, salt is shaken liberally over the meal before it is wrapped up.
