Haurongo: Hill, Alfred Francis

In 1906 Alfred Francis Hill formed New Zealand's first fully professional orchestra, which performed at the New Zealand International Exhibition under his baton. At the opening he conducted his 'Commemorative Ode' – one of his numerous compositions with New Zealand themes.
