Academy of Fine Arts selection committee, 1956

The selection committee of the Academy of Fine Arts is shown voting in 1956 for artworks to be included in its annual exhibition. The Academy pushed for a National Art Gallery, which was established in 1936 and was for many years housed in the Dominion Museum building in Buckle Street, Wellington.
