Coastal walkway, New Plymouth (3 o 5)

Coastal walkway, New Plymouth

New Plymouth's award-winning coastal walkway is a 12.7-kilometre boardwalk that stretches from Port Taranaki to Bell Block Beach. The walkway features Len Lye's 'Wind wand' kinetic sculpture, which is visible stretching up into the sky. Designed by Isthmus and Richard Bain Landscape Architects, the walkway was constructed in 1999 and has been extended twice.
