Christchurch Repertory Theatre

The opening of Christchurch's Radiant Hall (soon renamed Repertory Theatre) in 1929 confirmed a move away from neoclassical-style theatres to more modern designs, in this case the Spanish-mission style. The flamboyant Kilmore Street building stood out in the streetscape, but suffered severe damage in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake and was demolished.
