Dame Anne Salmond (2 o 2)

Dame Anne Salmond

Anne Salmond was an anthropologist whose early work was on Māori hui. She then began to document the history of early European exploration of New Zealand and the Pacific, looking particularly at the impact of exploration from the perspective of indigenous peoples. Salmond also spoke out on contemporary issues of civil liberties for both Māori and Pākehā. In 2013 she became New Zealander of the Year.
