Megan Hansen-Knarhoi's installation 'Jesus spells' (2011), depicts the Christian saviour speaking in tongues. The work is created out of French knitting wrapped around hundreds of nails banged into the gallery walls. It is one of a series of Hansen-Knarhoi's installations depicting Jesus and religious iconography, and is capable of many interpretations. The sculptor explains: 'I believe in the believers, have faith in the faithful, and am mesmerised by the magical and mystical.'
