Expatriate Bill Culbert stands at the entrance to the New Zealand pavilion at the 2013 Venice Biennale. Culbert is widely known in both New Zealand and Europe for his inventive artworks using light and colour as substitutes for the traditional sculptural object. His show 'Front door out back' included a number of distinct works in which light was used to illuminate found objects.
