Kōrero: Minor outdoor sports

The arrangement of a dragon boat crew can be seen in this photograph of a Rangitoto College team (seen here winning a race in the Auckland Regional Secondary Schools Dragon Boat Championship in 2013, at Lake Pupuke, Auckland). The drummer, who sets the rhythm and pace, sits in the bow above the paddlers, while the sweep, who steers the boat, is in an equivalent position in the stern. Teams can be single sex or, like this one, mixed.
