The New Zealand Herald has the largest circulation of any newspaper in the country. On 8 October 2007, the morning after the All Blacks were knocked out of the Rugby World Cup by France, the front page expressed the sense of national mourning that the unexpected result produced in New Zealand.  No other news was given space on the front page, such was considered the scale of the national calamity.
