Ice hockey game, 1949

Two teams battle it out in an ice hockey game at Lake Ida in Canterbury, in 1949. Ice hockey has been played in New Zealand since at least the early 1900s. For many years it came under the governance of the New Zealand Ice Skating Association, but finally in 1986 the New Zealand Ice Hockey Federation was formed.
