Modern, fully automatic washing machines, which in most cases eliminate the need for separate soaking, rinsing and hand washing, can be fitted into smaller spaces, doing away with washhouses or laundries. In this Wellington home the washing machine is tucked into a narrow cupboard between a bedroom and the bathroom.
