In 2012 Lauren Boyle won the coveted Baxter O'Neill trophy, presented annually by the NZASA for the swimmer of the year. She also received the State Insurance Swimmer of the Year award. A national champion and a Commonwealth Games medallist, she came within two-and-a-half seconds of winning bronze at the 2012 London Olympics.
