At the 1950 Empire Games, held in Auckland, this New Zealand swimming team won the 220-yard relay gold medal. It was New Zealand's first swimming gold in Empire or Commonwealth games. The swimmers are (from left) Michael Amos, Lyall Barry, Noel Chambers and Buddy Lucas.
