Haurongo: Bibby, Mary Ann

This portrait of the indomitable Mary Ann Bibby dates from late in her eventful life as a settler at Waipawa, near Napier. As well as raising eight children, with her husband she ran a thriving general store and mail-order business. Satisfied customers included both Pakeha and Maori from the locality.
