Official tour reporters, 1978

These eight men were members of the official tour party of reporters and photographers who travelled with the 1978 All Blacks team in the United Kingdom. The press men were very close to the team, sharing their hotels and socialising with them. The people shown here include some of the most significant rugby reporters of the period.  They are (back row, from left) Kevin McMenamin (the Press), Peter Bush (Truth), Peter Reilly (Rugby Review), Keith Quinn (Television New Zealand), John Howson (Radio New Zealand); and (front row, from left) Bob Howitt (Rugby News), Terry McLean (New Zealand Herald) and Ron Palenski (New Zealand Press Association).
