Mountain runners Melissa Moon and Jonathan Wyatt

New Zealanders have done well in mountain running. Melissa Moon (left) won the women's world championship in 2001 and 2003, while Jonathan Wyatt (right) won the men's championship six times between 1998 and 2008. In 2005 the world championships were held in Wellington and New Zealand runners Wyatt and Kate McIlroy won the men's and women's titles.
