Coffee-maker Michael Allpress, Sydney, 2003

Coffee-maker Michael Allpress, Sydney, 2003

Originally a surfer boy from Auckland’s North Shore, Michael started up his Rosebery coffee shop in 2001 as he felt that Sydney’s coffee outlets were focusing on profit rather than providing high quality coffee. His use of quality beans combined with a passion for the art of coffee-making has proved successful, and in 2003 he won a New South Wales Restaurant and Catering Association award for the number one coffee blend.
