Defenders: Casey Williams

Casey Williams (now Casey Kopua) was first selected for the national team in 2004 as a goal keep or goal defence. Named the 23rd captain of the Silver Ferns in 2009, she led the team to victory on many occasions, including FastNet competitions (the team won the inaugural world series in 2009) and the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Williams is shown here during a 2011 match between the Silver Ferns and Australia.
