Iraqi mother and child

The last three decades of the 20th century were years of turmoil in the Middle East. Particularly in Iran and Iraq, people fled war, and persecution for their beliefs. Among the arrivals in New Zealand in 1998 were this Iraqi woman, Samira, and her nine-month-old son Raad.
