Race-going revival: fashion competition

At the 2011 Wellington Cup meeting at Trentham racecourse, Sally-Anne Kerr (second from right) won the supreme award in the Fashion in the Field event with her floral dress and fascinator ensemble. Dressing up to go to the races is a long tradition, but the introduction of fashion competitions at big Cup carnivals has attracted a wider range of patrons.
