David Baragwanath

David Baragwanath, president of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, is shown here with Ban Ki-moon, secretary-general of the United Nations, on 13 December 2011. The United Nations Special Tribunal for Lebanon was set up in 2009 to prosecute those responsible for the assassination of the former prime minister of Lebanon, Rafic Hariri. Baragwanath, a retired New Zealand judge, was appointed to the tribunal in October 2010 and elected as its president in October 2011.
