Daniella Smith fighting Nive Moefaauo, 2008

In New Zealand, women did not participate in boxing until the 1990s. Since then, women have been both amateur and professional boxers. Daniella Smith (right), pictured here fighting Australian boxer Nive Moefaauo in 2008, was an amateur boxer from 1999 to 2005 before turning professional. Smith won this bout.
