Solomon Islands tax support

Solomon Islands tax support

New Zealand's support for the Solomon Islands has included assistance with building government administrative capacity. Craig Ashton (in white T-shirt), a senior tax investigator with New Zealand's Inland Revenue Department, worked in the Solomon Islands Ministry of Finance in the early 2000s, investigating tax paid by business operators and passing on the complex skills involved. He is shown here with members of the local rugby team, Luapel. In his spare time Ashton was the team's fitness trainer and assistant coach.
