Workplace meeting, 1963 (2 o 3)

Workplace meeting, 1963

Like many other candidates, National’s Peter Malone went into workplaces to talk about the issues during his campaign for the Nelson electorate in 1963. Here, he addresses waterside workers in their hall – seeking their vote was a long shot, as National was the party of farmers and businessmen, while blue-collar workers were more likely to support Labour. Although National won the election, Malone did not win in Nelson.
