1932 depression protests: Wellington

The day after the 10 May 1932 rally of unemployed workers at Parliament, where a breakaway group had smashed shop windows in Lambton Quay, many of the same crowd reassembled in a Cuba Street paddock. There they were charged and batoned by mounted and foot police.
