Signing a petition

Peter de Waal signs a petition calling for the removal of GST (goods and services tax) from food products outside an Auckland supermarket in 2009. Signatures for petitions are collected in a variety of ways, including distribution through friends and community networks, street canvassers, and on the internet. This petition was unsuccessful, although the Labour Party included the exemption in the policies it took to the 2011 election.
