MAdGE's pink protest

Mothers Against Genetic Engineering (MAdGE) stand in a picket line outside Parliament following their eviction from the public gallery for stripping off their tops to reveal pink bras and creating a disturbance. They were protesting about government plans not to extend a moratorium on the release of genetically modified organisms beyond October 2003. The women were not arrested, but were banned from Parliament for two years. The moratorium on GMOs remained in force in 2022.
