Opposing mining

Opposing mining

Dressed as a native bird, Kirstie Knowles of Forest and Bird posts her submission against a government proposal to mine national parks outside the Ministry of Economic Development in Wellington in 2010. There was considerable public opposition to mining in the parks, and the government backed down. Founded in 1923, Forest and Bird is New Zealand's largest environmental cause group.
