Disability, discrimination and access

For disabled people one of the major sources of discrimination is the lack of access to facilities. This was illustrated pointedly in Auckland during the Human Rights Film Festival in May 2006. Comedian Philip Patson, who uses a wheelchair, was unable to attend the opening night event as the wheelchair access was blocked.
