Roselyne Noruka. Fr McHardy is buried in a plot of Marist Priests at Karori Cemetery, Wellington, New Zealand. After leaving Tunuru with Malaria and Tuberculosis he spent some time convalescing in Sydney. When it was realised he would not recover he returned to New Zealand and was nursed by the Sisters of Compassion in Wellington until he died.
