Door to the Pacific committee room

The door to the Pacific committee room at Parliament is embellished with carvings and stained glass with traditional designs. One of the consequences of mixed-member proportional representation (MMP) has been the election of members of Parliament with a wider range of interests and ethnic backgrounds. The Pacific room was established as a response to the growing number of Pacific Island MPs.
