Sir David Beattie at Outward Bound

Governor-General Sir David Beattie puts his back into it aboard one of Outward Bound's cutters in 1983. Governors-general have had strong ties with Outward Bound, an outdoor-pursuits organisation, since Lord Cobham helped to establish it in New Zealand in the early 1960s.
