The Duke of Edinburgh, in the Chatham Islands during his 1956 visit, chats to a pair of youngsters – in front is Flora Solomon – while waiting for a hāngī to be dug up. The duke was about to help eat two whole bullocks, five pigs, six sheep and assorted vegetables.
