New Zealand Breakers win first title

New Zealand Breakers win first title

On 29 April 2011 the New Zealand Breakers, a professional basketball team based in Auckland, won the Australian National Basketball League title. Here they show their elation after defeating the Cairns Taipans in the third and deciding match of the grand final series. This was the first time that a New Zealand team had won an Australian national club competition. New Zealand teams have competed in Australian netball, football, basketball and rugby league competitions since the 1990s or 2000s.
