Ministerial meeting

Minister for Culture and Heritage Chris Finlayson (left) is shown at a weekly meeting with staff of Manatū Taonga, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, in 2011. Ministry chief executive Lewis Holden is at right. Weekly meetings to discuss the usual business of a ministry are the norm in New Zealand government. Contact between minister and chief executive is likely to be more frequent if a specific issue or problem is being worked on intensively, or the ministry's area of operation is particularly contentious.
