A tractor for Fiji

New Zealand's high commissioner to Fiji, John Grace (left), and Fiji's minister for home affairs, lands and mineral resources, Ratu William Toganivalu, watch as a driver tries out a tractor given to Fiji by New Zealand in February 1972. The tractor, ditch digger and mangrove clearance blade were to be used in the Ravi Ravi mangrove reclamation scheme on the coast of Viti Levu north of Lautoka. In this era much of New Zealand's aid was in the form of technical equipment and assistance.
