War memorial window, Cambridge

War memorial window, Cambridge

This stained-glass window in St Andrew's church in Cambridge is a memorial to those who died in the First World War. The image shows New Zealand soldiers climbing the walls of Le Quesnoy in eastern France during the last week of the war. Many memorials were put up in churches, schools and businesses after the war, in addition to the large monuments erected by cities, townships and localities.
